Pacific Business News reports that the 21 acres of entitled beachfront resort land in Waipouli has sold and is planned to be the site of a 326-unit time-share project with six hotel units. The “Coconut Beach Resort” site is located between the Courtyard by Marriott and Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy. The developer reports intentions to build the entire resort at one time, and explains that the construction will include a series of two-, three- and four-story buildings. The first section of the building is estimated to be competed in approximately 18 months, and the remaining sections within 10 months after that. This new development is expected to create hundreds of construction jobs and roughly 225 permanent jobs.
