Pacific Business News reports that Hunt Development Group officially broke ground on the 47,000-square-foot shopping center called Kilauea Lighthouse Village, located in Kilauea town. Construction is estimated to last approximately 14 months, ending around November of 2017.
Kilauea Lighthouse Village will be anchored by The Market at Kilauea, a 10,000-square-foot grocery store owned by the Sullivan Family of Companies, which owns Foodland, and they plan it to be one of the largest supporters of local farmers/food in the state. More information about The Market at Kilauea can be found HERE.
Other businesses that will open in the shopping center will include the very popular Kauai Mexican restaurant, Verde (currently with a location in Kapaa) and Wyland Galleries, with other local and statewide businesses to be announced soon.
The shopping center will be designed with an old Hawaiian town look that aims to compliment the historic structure where Kilauea Fish Market, Kauai Juice Co. and other companies are currently located.
