On Wednesday of this week, Kaiser Permanente announced their plans to create a new, state-of-the-art medical facility on Kauai. The new clinic will be located at 4366 Kukui Grove Street, on the ground floor of the Kukui Grove Health Center. Construction is schedule to begin in September of this year, with plans to have the new facility open and operating by January of 2016.
President and executive medical director of the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, Geoffrey Sewell, MD, stated, ““It’s a privilege to bring our integrated care delivery system to Kauai, with physicians, pharmacy, and lab services all in one location… This new infrastructure on the Garden Island also means we’ll be able to enhance specialty care access through initiatives including our new telecare and teledermatology consults.”
Demand has been growing for a Kaiser Permanente facility on Kauai, as the number Kaiser Permanente patients on the island is now greater than 2,400, roughly 1,000 more subscribers than there were five years ago.
