Hawaiian Airlines FlightAs reported in detail in the 2014 Year-End Kauai Real Estate Market Report, tourism in Hawaii is up recently.  In 2014, tourism was the largest “export” in the state, as 8.3 million visitors came to the state and spent just over $14.7 billion, a 2.3% increase over 2013 expenditures.  There were many contributing factors to the increase in tourism in 2014, but one substantial one was Hawaii Airlines’ inauguration of five new non-stop routes from California to Hawaii for the summer season.  These new flights were so well supported that Hawaiian Airlines will again be bringing them back for the summer season in 2015.  Here is a breakdown of the routes:

  • Los Angeles to Kona | 3x weekly
  • Los Angeles to Lihue | 4x weekly
  • Los Angeles to Maui | daily
  • Oakland to Kona | 4x weekly
  • Oakland to Lihue | 3x weekly
