Pacific Business News has reported that Hyatt Hotels Corp. will launch a new upscale luxury collection called The Unbound Collection, which will include the former Coco Palms Resort on Kauai.  Other hotels included in the collection will be the Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas, the Hotel du Louvre in Paris, and the Carmelo Resort and Spa in Carmelo, Uruguay.  In total Hyatt Hotels Corp includes 638 properties in 52 countries.

The former Coco Palms Resort has now been closed for almost 24 years (since Hurricane Iniki), but it is planned to undergo a complete restoration and reopen as a Hyatt hotel by Spring of 2018.
